Just to put things into perspective, the last spread I finished was on June 18th. Nothing else to report, just moving on to the next one. Jeremy Kayestag:elvesofiax.com,2008-11-15T00:00:00-06:00:/2008-11-15T00:00:00-06:002008-11-15T00:00:00-06:00ResearchNo real updates to the site today, but I've finally ended my hiatus for working on Chapter 2. Previously, my working life made it impossible, but I've found an interesting new method of freelancing where I bust-ass on a project for two weeks, then spend the next two looking for the next project. That looking period gives me ample time to work on artwork. The next page I need to draw is extremely important, as it illustrates Py's first view of Iax. Most of Chapter 2 has been told in flashback, and involves a great deal of landscape, which I don't have much experience with and is an immense amount of work. The good news is this picture of Iax will be the last such illustration before I can finish the book with dialogue and action, but the frustrating news is because of it's significance, this is going to be the hardest comic page I've ever drawn. I hope you can see why i've put it off for so long.Jeremy Kayestag:elvesofiax.com,2008-10-26T00:00:00-05:00:/comics/adelynn/page1.html2008-10-26T00:00:00-05:002008-10-26T00:00:00-05:00The Tale of Mother Adelynn CompleteI finished The Tale of Mother Adelynn today. Its interesting how well I got to know these characters I'll probably never use again. I've always adored the "tip of the iceberg" style of story telling, and I hope I pulled it off well here. There's quite a bit about Paul, Robert and Eleanor's life that I wrote into their dialogue, and I'll be interested to see how much people pick up. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it. I'll be working on Chapter 2 again soon, (25% done at present,) but I've also got the idea for my next short. We'll see what I get done next. Not much else to tell, so I'll get back to finishing Adelynn.Jeremy Kayestag:elvesofiax.com,2008-10-14T00:00:00-05:00:/comics/adelynn/page3.html2008-10-14T00:00:00-05:002008-10-14T00:00:00-05:00Three Pages of AdelynnI posted the third page of Mother Adelynn, as well as some corrections to the second. Huggy has been an interesting challenge to draw for this comic, since it seems he really enjoys talking with his hands. Anyone familiar with my old comics will know my infamy with drawing foreshortened hands. I'm rather proud of how Huggy turned out in the second panel, but I redrew that four times to get it right. While I still (and always will) don't feel it's perfect, I can say I'm really starting to enjoy drawing characters facepalming. This is the first page of a six page short story that breaks away from The Crew's adventure a bit and takes a look at some of the culture of greater Iax. I'm going back to that day job in about seven hours, so I guess we'll see how long it takes me to get to the other five pages. Jeremy Kayestag:elvesofiax.com,2008-08-04T00:00:00-05:00:/2008-08-04T00:00:00-05:002008-08-04T00:00:00-05:00ResponseWow! I got a lot more response for free Elves of Iax than I expected. First I ran out of 75 cent stamps. Hit the post office yesterday and found out I needed 76 cent stamps now (the first batch hasn't been returned... maybe the postal service is merciful?) Then I tried to write myself a web-tool to handle people's addresses. That's going okay, but I have up half way though because I wanted to get them stamped and sent before the end of the weekend. I've got most of them ready to go, but I've got work tomorrow! Side note: not complaining, this is a kind of stress I'm actually enjoying! I'll get your comics to you soon, folks, thank you for requesting them!Jeremy Kayes
